Six Arrested for 'Instigating Unrest through the Internet'

According to China Digital Times (CDT), police in Chengdu, capital city of the Shichuan province, recently detained six local residents for posting Internet articles and demonstrating against a major petrochemical project.

Quoting Shichuan News Online, CDT reports that several local residents posted articles on a number of Chinese Internet forums opposing the project, saying that it would lead to serious air and water pollution. They also organized a demonstration for the cause, in which about 200 people participated earlier this month.
