Happy Press Freedom Day

May 3 sees the commemoration of Press Freedom Day internationally, a date to remember the hundreds of journalists who for the past two centuries have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve this universal human right.

This floral tribute was left three years ago at the Freedom Park Memorial, which used to sit at Freedom Park, in Arlington, across the Potomac River from Washington, USA.

Now the memorial is part of the new location of the Newseum.

Wherever it may be located, it's a stark reminder that press freedom does not come free.
