Programs
WPFC programs include:
Maintaining front line for press freedom at the United Nations, UNESCO and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE);
Monitoring of media-related issues under discussion at inter-governmental bodies;
Coordination of actions and policies of free-press organizations;
Advocacy of free-press principles;
Presentation of the annual Andersen-Ottaway Lecture, focusing on a current issue of importance to press freedom;
A global campaign to eliminate “insult laws” used by public authorities against journalists and media scrutinizing the behavior and or policies of government officials;
Administration of a Fund Against Censorship providing legal assistance to journalists who are prosecuted for their work;
